Commission: idofakes - Shadleaf Colored by tk36477
These are special commissions, where you give me a line art that you want colored, and I will either reproduce it, or re-draw the subjects, and add a color scheme I think is suitable! (Or a color scheme you request!)
*NOTE* I reserve the right to exercise my creativity when I color, and unless otherwise specified in the request, I make all final decisions on color choices. And once again, no nudity

I don't currently have any examples, but I will have some up soon!
Line Art
Keeping its promise by tk36477
Commission: LittleZombi - Doran, the Pokemon by tk36477
Small, simple line arts of anything. Official Pokemon, Fan-made Pokemon, Concepts, Characters.
1-3 Creatures, Characters or a mix of both.
I reserve the right to chose the style and detail of the drawings, but it will always be to my satisfaction.
All fan-made characters must be permitted by artist to draw, and NO NUDITY. Gore will be tolerated to an extent determined by me.
Heya guys,

So I've started on the character designs for the animation. They're semi-decent. I don't know what it is about drawing in Photoshop, but something always feels off. Maybe it's just technical, maybe it's just me unable to get past the awkward, ugly stage a drawing goes through before it becomes complete and beautiful. But it's always just something small that keeps tugging at the back of my mind.

But yeah, characters. I've got the mage basically done, and the knight was okay. Problem is, half way through drawing the knight on the computer I remembered that I'm going to have to draw these a ridiculous number of times, and I'm starting to question if this style was really what I wanted to use. Went back and drew some chibi versions, but the prof didn't seem to like them. Can't blame her, I don't know how much anime she's been exposed to but while they seem perfectly normal to me they might just seem weird to her.

Forgot my resume, which was me slacking to say the least. Other people's seem to be pretty solid, mine would really just have no work info relevant to the digital arts, graphic design industry. CUTCO doesn't really do that, and working as a tutor and in the bookstore don't really even put much towards my general skill set. Boy there are some things I really regret not doing when I was younger. But hey, what's past is past, and next week I'm aiming for a short (and I mean, really short) demo of what the animation might look like. And also getting these blog entries up in a timely manner, because that's another thing I've been slacking on. I blame other classes.

Heya guys,

So this meeting I brought my storyboard. It didn't end up being complete because I got super busy with Sakura-Con funding and stuff. I'll get it done later. But the general story is this:
Mage and Knight are on a quest to a temple. They enter the temple and are attacked by a harpy-like monster. After barely holding off the monster's flying assaults, their clamor draws the attention of several other monsters in the temple, who surround the duo. But out of the darkness comes a couple quick flashes, sinking some throwing daggers into the harpy, and signaling there is another in the temple who at least wasn't an enemy. So the trio fight off the monsters, meet up, introduce themselves, and head deeper into the temple.
Aaaaaand that's as far as I've gotten. I think it'll be enough, could just end with them descending the stairs and hold the viewers in suspense. The aim currently is probably 3 to 5 minutes of animation.

I'll put a couple scans of the storyboard in when I get the chance to scan them. The sketches are super basic, but I can see how some of them will transition. So yeah. I'll also need to make a timeline. And also I will need to make a resume. I hate making resumes...

Heya guys,

So after settling on animations the previous meeting, I was to turn in a statement of intent. Basically it described what my project would be, how I would present it, how it relates to the three facets of the curriculum (Vis Arts, Mass Comm and Comp Sci again) and what I would get out of it.

So I've begun looking into some animation tutorials on Youtube, as well as some other programs I could use besides Flash. My comp sci prof asked me 'Why not Flash?' and I was like, 'Well it's not like I don't want to use it, just looking at other things.' So my searches turned up programs like Scratch from MIT, which is kind of a basic programming tool that could be used for animations; Maya, which looks pretty advanced, but offers the option of 3D animations and looks like there are a lot of tools once you get into it; and a couple other ones that didn't seem to do what Flash does better. So Flash it is.

So for the next meeting I'll need to put together a storyboard for the animation. Should be fun, I already have some things brewing but the project seems pretty challenging. We'll see how it goes though, fingers crossed.
